New projects
To realize the mid- and long-term national nuclear power development schemes and to speed up the pace of nuclear power construction, CGNPG has embarked on the site selection/comparison and other preparatory works associated with new nuclear projects across the country. Specifically, material progress has been achieved in the preparatory work of Taishan (Guangdong), Bailong (Guangxi), Wuhu (Anhui) and Lianyungang (Jiangsu). Active preparations are undergoing for projects in provinces such as Hunan, Fujian, Hainan, Shandong and Sichuan. Situated in Chixi Town, Taishan City of Guangdong Province, Taishan nuclear power project is planned with six units of 1000 MWe class to be constructed in several phases, and it is an important project under the 11th Five-year Plan of the Guangdong Province. Currently, the Project Office has been set up and the Project Proposal has been submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission. Preparations for the project are undergoing as planned. Situated in Fangchenggang City of Guangxi, Bailong nuclear power project is planned with six units of 1000 MWe class to be constructed in several phases, and the first phase will include two units. Teamed up with the China Power Investment Corporation (CPIC) and Guangxi Investment Group for the project, CGNPG will play a leading role in the future project construction and operations management. Currently, the Project Office has been set up and preparation activities are undergoing as planned. Situated in Wuhu City of Anhui Province, Wuhu nuclear power project is planned with six units of 1000 MWe class to be constructed in several phases. Currently, the Project Office has been set up and the Project Proposal for Two Units of Phase I has been submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission. Preparations for the project are undergoing as planned. Situated in Lianyungang City of Jiangsu Province, the 2nd Lianyungang nuclear power project is planned with four units of 1000 MWe class to be constructed in several phases. Currently, the preparation office of Jiangsu Nuclear Power Company has been set up with the Project Proposal submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission. Preparations for the project are undergoing as planned.
