Development of clean energy
While promoting nuclear power projects, CGNPG has launched the strategy of developing clean energy, mainly wind power and hydropower. As of February 2007, the 50MW Daan (Jilin) wind power project is under construction as per schedule, Huitengliang (Inner Mongolia) wind power project has been approved by the State, and equipment purchase order has been placed for Anxi (Gansu) wind power project and preparatory activities has been completed. What’s more, preparations for wind power projects in Sheyang (Jiangsu), Taishan (Guangdong) and Chabei (Hebei) are implemented in good progress. And projects such as the Suining-phase hydropower project on Fujiang River (Sichuan) progress well.
Looking into the future, CGNPG is fully confident that, by building on the safe operations of its operating nuclear power stations, CGNPG will make full use of its advantages in terms of capital, technology, talent and management, and play its role – to the fullest possible extent – to rise up to the challenge and live up to its mission to accelerate the standardization, serialization and development of scale of nuclear power and to promote the development of clean energy especially wind power in China. In so doing, CGNPG is making even greater contributions to the attainment of the national nuclear power development targets and the construction of an environment-friendly and resource-saving society.
