LNPS Phase II is the only nuclear power project commenced construction during the 10th Five Year Plan and is a leading project under the national self-reliance program of the industry. Two units of 1000MWe class applied the technology of CPR1000 --- the self-owned brand of CGNPG. The project was started on December 15, 2005 and is planned to put into commercial operation in 2010. In accordance with the national objectives of “self-reliance in design, manufacturing, construction and operation”, China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. is the EPC contractor of the project management. The project engineering, equipment manufacture and surveillance, construction and technical services are charged by domestic enterprises respectively. The localization rates of the equipment exceed 50% for Unit 1 and 70% for Unit 2 respectively. To further improve the safety and economy level, 15 important technical improvements and more than 40 other improvements will be used on the two units through close cooperation with domestic design and research institutes. The improvements cover the digital control systems, advanced control room, half-speed turbine and etc. Currently, it is the peak time of equipment installation and testing. Serving as the demonstration project of CPR1000 and the important link of the country’s nuclear power development, LNPS Phase II will give further impetus to the mastery of the improved Generation II+ technology in terms of engineering and equipment manufacturing to fundamentally realize localization and self-reliance and lay a solid foundation for the introduction, digestion and assimilation of the Generation III technology.
Situated in Dalian, Liaoning Province, LHNP is the first nuclear power project in the 11th Five Year Plan. It is approved by the central government for the first time to build four 1000MWe class CPR1000 units at the same time and becomes the very first nuclear power station built in northeast China. This project will be constructed and operated by Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Company--- a joint venture of CGNPC, China Power Investment Corporation (CPIC) and Dalian Construction Investment Group. CGNPC will be responsible for the project construction and the operation of the first five years after commercial operation with full participation of CPIC. China Nuclear Power Engineering Company is responsible for the construction. China Nuclear Power Engineering Design Company plays a leading part in the design works. The equipment will be mainly produced by local manufacturers. The localization rates of Units 1 and 2 are over 70% and those of Units 3 and 4 over 80%. The construction has been started on August 18, 2007. All the four units are scheduled to put into operation from 2012. At present, LHNP is at the peak time of civil work. The construction of LHNP blew the horn for a new round of domestic nuclear power development and symbolized an important step towards standardization and scale construction. It is of significant importance to the implementation of “Actively pushing forward the development of nuclear power”, the acceleration of the self-reliance and development of domestic nuclear power industry, the promotion of nuclear power equipment manufacturing and personnel training, and the rising of the old north-east industrial base.
Situated in Fuding City of Fujian Province, NDNP is planned with four PWR units of 1000 MWe class applying CPR1000 technology. It is a joint investment of CGNPC (controlling shareholder), China Datang Corporation and Fujian Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.. This is the first project constructed after the issuing of National Nuclear Power Mid and Long-term Development Program and also the first one of the economic zone on the west side of the Strait. The project has been started on February 18, 2008. The four units is planned to put into operation in succession from 2012. The construction and engineering works are all done by subsidiaries of CGNPC. The localization rate of equipment manufacturing can reach 75% and above for Units 1 and 2 and 85% for Units 3 and 4. At present, the project is at the peak time of civil works. The construction of NDNP is of far-reaching meaning in thoroughly applying the Scientific Outlook on Development, replying climate change, promoting energy saving and emission reduction, improving domestic nuclear power self-reliance and further development, and realizing the strategy of building the economic zone on the west side of the Straits and the development objective of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
YNPS is situated in Dongping Town, Yangjiang City in western Guangdong Province. A total of six CPR1000 units of 1000 MWe class are foreseen for the site which will be CGNPG’s second nuclear power base in Guangdong. CNPEC is responsible for the EPC of the project and DNMC will take the charge of operation. The localization rate of the equipment can reach 75% for Units 1 and 2, 85% for Units 3 and 4 and shoot for 90% for Units 5 and 6. The general localization rate will reach 83%. The project has been launched on December 16, 2008. The six units is planned to put into commercial operation from 2013 in succession. In 2017, when all the six units are in operation the annual off-take will achieve 45TWh. YNPS will further improve the self-reliance of domestic nuclear power industry, spur on the upgrade of the industry and the local economic development and play a positive role in setting Guangdong as the sample of nuclear power industry.
Situated in Taishan City of Guangdong Province, Taishan Nuclear Power Project is planned with four PWR units including two units for Phase I. As per the plan of the central government, Phase I will apply EPR technology of 1700 MWe class which will be the largest unit in China and be constructed and operated by Guangdong Taishan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. of CGNPG. On December 17, 2007, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the preparatory work of the Taishan Project Phase I. On August 26, 2008, the nuclear island excavation for Phase I began. The plant will be commenced construction in 2009 and put into operation around 2014. Taishan Nuclear Power Project provides us a stage to introduce, digest and assimilate Generation III.
Situated in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Autonomous Region, Fangchenggang (Hongsha) Nuclear Power Station is planned with six 1000MWe-class PWR units and is invested by a joint venture of CGNPC and Guangxi Investment Group with the former as the primary player in project construction and operation management. On October 10, 2008, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the preparatory work of the project. As per the state plan, phase I of the project will apply CPR1000 technology on two 1000 MWe-class PWR units. Currently, the owner of the project, Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. has been registered. On December 20, 2008, the preparatory work was formally launched. The construction is planned to commence in 2009 and in 2014 the plant will be ready for commercial operation. As the first nuclear power project in Beibu Wan, Fangchenggang project is of great importance to thoroughly fulfill the national development program for Beibu Wan economic zone, to make the zone a new economic polar of China’s coastal economy and to take the lead to realizing a moderately prosperous society in all respects in Guangxi. |
